Travelling with your own car

If your own car is too old and has broken down too often it is understandable that you have doubts whether you should travel with it to a long journey or not.

To avoid inconvenience check the followings when preparing for a journey.

- check the tires, the pressure and always take an extra tire with you.

- have the brakes checked and brake fluid refilled if necessary

- have the coolant and the entire system checked for old pipes and leakage.

- have the exhaust-pipe checked as any leakage may cause serious damage and danger for the passengers

- have the gearbox checked to avoid a time-consuming and expensive repair work on the way

- have the heating and the air-conditioning checked especially if you travel in the winter or summer
